| Description |
Dedicated to Eleanor (Nell) Gwyn (2 February 1650 – 14 November 1687), famous Restoration actress and beloved mistress of King Charles II.
I have written this piece for tenor recorder, having found its lyrical, melancholy timbre fitting. But it can also be played on soprano recorder. The accompaniment is playable on harpsichord or piano.
